What's it all about?

We’re bringing the South African winelands to the UK!

Come and experience some of the natural wonders of South Africa without leaving the UK - ‘The Great South African Wine Trail’ is back for 2010, and will be visiting some fantastic events across the UK this summer.

Featuring a cellar door, lush gardens of indigenous South African plants, known locally as fynbos, and real-life grape vines, ‘The Great South African Wine Trail’ will provide you with the ultimate South African wine experience.

Wine lovers from all over the country will be able to walk amongst the fynbos garden, sample a wide range of delicious South African wines, learn the finer points of wine appreciation from our enthusiastic ambassadors and gain an insight into the eco-friendly stance that is the hallmark of the entire South African wine industry.

South African wines are produced in one of the world’s most breathtaking ecosystems, the Cape Floral Kingdom. This World Heritage site is home to over 9,600 species of flora and fauna - more than in the entire northern hemisphere!

Recognising the importance of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the South African wine industry is committed to protecting and conserving this unique environment for future generations. Wine made in harmony with nature is our motto! For further information, visit www.bwi.co.za.

The Great South African Wine Trail is carbon neutral, in keeping with our commitment to a sustainable future.
